Huawei announced on June 5th that it will hold the HDC.Cloud 2023 Developer Conference on July 7th, which will unveil Huawei's latest technology and products. Among them, Huawei will release a multi-modal, billions level large model product called "Pangu Chat", which will be directly compared with ChatGPT. According to relevant information, the development of this Pangu Chat large model began as early as 2019. After Huawei's internal project approval and release of basic large models such as NLP (Natural Language Processing), CV (Machine Vision), and scientific computing, it is about to be released to the market.

In the design positioning of the Pangu model, Huawei's internal team has identified three key core design principles.

Firstly, the scale of the model should be large enough to absorb massive amounts of data for training.

Secondly, the network structure needs to be strong to truly leverage the performance of the model.

Finally, Pangu Chat needs to have excellent generalization ability and can be truly applied to work scenarios in various industries.

At present, the upcoming "Pangu Series AI Large Model" includes large models in multiple fields such as NLP, CV, and scientific computing. These models solve some of the challenges in traditional AI development, such as workshop style development, high cost of sample annotation, difficulty in model maintenance, and insufficient generalization ability.

However, it should be noted that this Pangu Chat is mainly aimed at To B/G government and enterprise clients, mainly applied in fields such as smart cities, transportation, finance, industrial software, office software, etc. It may be difficult for ordinary users to directly experience its charm in the early stages. Before the launch of ChatGPT, Huawei's Pangu model had already gained fame, but it was mainly aimed at ToB/G customers and did not pay much attention to C-end users. Huawei, on the other hand, stated that they focus on the underlying computing platform of Al, rather than the application platform, because ordinary users are rarely willing to pay high fees for use, and enterprises are the key to achieving profits.

In addition, Huawei will also release Hongmeng 4.0 at the developer conference, further enhancing various capabilities, especially in the field of automotive machinery, which will have significant highlights. According to Yu Chengdong, the upcoming Wenjie M9 will be equipped with the Hongmeng 4.0 car engine system and will meet with everyone in the autumn.
